Sam Seawright fourth in opening night of Mark Fields Memorial at Thunderhill Raceway Park
After sitting idle from competition last weekend, Sam Seawright followed the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series to Thunderhill Raceway Park (Summertown, Tenn.) on Friday afternoon for the two-day Mark Fields Memorial.
With a stout 36-car field on hand for the $5,000-to-win opener, Seawright won his LCQ which slated him to start 11th in the quick 30-lap feature where he would storm towards the front and wind up fourth. He trailed Payton Freeman, Tanner English, and Brandon Overton while Ashton Winger completed the Top-5.
With the field expanded to 38 entries on Saturday night, Seawright started seventh in the $15,000-to-win finale and was running inside the Top-10 before mechanical problems arose and Sam was unable to continue. He finished 26th.
Seawright slipped back to third in the HTFSDS point standings.
